Design to flow characteristics

November 2, 2017 Written by Randy Mueller

Cadens’ approach leverages the rapid design and build capabilities enabled by auto-optimized CAD tools and additive manufacturing (AM). Mass customization is becoming a reality across market segments through the rapidly evolving technologies in AM. As seen below, a basic example shows the design freedom of AM by representing the flow path (aqua) in a conveyance assembly. Using the flow path as a starting point of the design is one way to inspire creative engineering of the interior and the exterior of the printed surface with a clamshell housing (red, purple).
